I love it when Nivbed's name comes up in the "it's finally finished" section of this site and this is exactly why. Truly awesome.........as usual! I don't where you learned to paint like you do but you are phenomenal!

That's a great piece, I think you really captured it. You have a lot of really inspiring stuff on your website as well. Remember to put your best foot forward, dot your i's and cross your t's, and I think you have a great shot at getting hired. Good luck!

owh !... what a strange pink bunny :D
Mr Nivbed, I wish you all the best with Troika. As a huge fan of the Crow and a huge fan of your stuff I can only stay voiceless in front of your image. This is tremendous. How many time did you pass on that piece ?

nivbed this is wonderful:
i love your attention to texture, i hope you get the job you are trying for.
i like how the bird is in the extreme foreground and out of focus, it is strange that everything further away isnt out of focus. motion blur would be a good reason.
i wasnt liking the fire in the barrel drawing me to the center at first, now i am not so sure - it is so well rendered i think you could add a cute little pink bunny in it and could still finda way to make the piece work. i felt it was too soflty reflected or too bright, but you have hypnotized me with your skill and i am hurting my neck looking up so high for so long.
(metaphores)
i like the sharp texturing around the mans feet - on his boots, the puddles in the filthy alleyway and overcoat.
i would say the weak points are the mans face and the fire i am not liking much. but how can i say anything - i am not one for advice.
i am just trying to help you better you piece if possible and make you posting your work worth while.

more of your art i will see you see.

So when do we find out if he got the job? :)

Something you boys at Troika might want to consider (if you haven't already) is that Justin is only going to continue to grow and succeed from this point, and with people like Mr. Manley around to guide that, it is quite literally *SCARY* how good he could be.

I'm serious Jason, take this kid under your wing. I'm sure you must agree with me in that you've found a diamond in the rough here.

well...that would be fine...but Im not looking for a wingman...Im looking for a replacement. Im moving to boston/providence! Taking a full time painting only gig...am gonna be neighbors with jon foster. cant wait for the new life.

Im rearranging everything around my art. My place will have a studio...Ill be taking the lesson from el coro and riding the train to draw every day and will be once again pushing my traditional skils..and personal work.

I wish him luck...today is my last day at troika (well I will be here friday to clean up and such). At this point his success is up to him. Ive done pretty much all i can.

good luck niv...

Oh wow Jason, that sounds so inspirational. Not that you need to hear it from me, but I'm proud of ya, mate. What a cool way to live. I hope you continue to post as well, and keep us updated as to how you're living.

I wish you the best, man.
