Hello my name is Robert Hoole.

To tell you a little about myself, I’m 23 and living in Houston Texas working as a security officer.

I aspire to one day be a video game designer.

I will hopefully be starting collage in January 2011 for Software Engineering. While enrolled I plan to begin creating apps for cell phones, not as an alternative to working just as a way to supplement my income.

I do have some background in C#, C++ and Java.

While going through school (and through forums like this one) I will hopefully meet many people to work with in writing and designing graphics for cell phone applications.

The way payment will work is: Everyone who participates in the production of each individual app will be paid a pre determined amount ($200.00-$500.00 USD) to begin, then whatever profit the game produces will be split equally between all parties that were involved in the software’s creation.

The two exceptions of this are:

The contractors/employees initial royalties will be used to replace the money that was paid in the beginning of the project. Meaning, if you would normally be entitled to $1.00 per copy of the application sold and you were paid $300.00 at the beginning of the project, then you would not receive any payment until 300 copies of the application have been sold. Don't worrie tho, even low end games still sell a couple thousand copies in their first few weeks.

The second exception is:
The Software company itself would get an equal share of the royalties. This money would be used for things like advertising, purchasing software for contractors/employees to use, paying $200.00 - $500.00 to bring new contractors/employees into the company, if the company does exceedingly well this money will be used to pay rent on an office space, and other things of this nature.

Every contractor/employee would have 24 hour access to any/all records and transactions involving the software that they worked on. This will ensure that everyone is well aware that they are receiving there fair share. There will be contracts, notaries, and lawyers involved in every step of the process.

This is a mid-term goal however. My short term goal is the main reason why I am posting on this forum, and that is that I am looking for an artist who is good with comic book stiled art.

Mainly for recreational purposes I would like to take one of my game ideas and try turning it into a comic book.. I believe that if well executed this could be very worth while.

The point of this project is not to make a profit, though I will not rule it out.

The point is to create something that I can use to keep myself motivated, share with family and friends and when I am ready to begin creating videogames, use as story board for the project team.

If the feed back is well received I may move forward and send it off to a publisher, just to see if they will pick it up… In the event that the publisher does like the comic, the artist will be contacted and asked if they would like to continue on creating additional comics, the artist would also be entitled to royalties from any sales the comics make.

But I know how hard it is to get published and that is an unlikely possibility, especially since under no circumstances will I sell the intellectual property rights to the story. If I did I would not be able to create a game with them later, thus defeating the point entirely.

So this is were the artists on this website come in.
As I said before I am a Security Officer, I don’t have a large amount of money to pay for freelance work I will probably only be able to afford $200.00 USD or so per month. However I do have a large ambition to see this project begin.

I will provide rough sketch story boards, panel layouts, dialogue, and pay for printing, shipping and handling, est.

Depending on the prices that we discuss the first issue of the comic may be more of a graphic novel. I will be requesting multiple issues to be created. The type of the art that I am requesting is nothing overly complicated, just typical comic book quality art. Obviously I want to get the best bang for my buck so I will be considering several factors while deciding which artist to work with.

Nothing written here is set in stone, everything is negotiable. The art will be themed in a very Gotham City like setting, and this comic will involve various demons. I am leaving a lot up to the artist. For example I do not know exactly what my main character will look like, I have an image in my head but only a few characteristics stand out. I do not have any preference on what I want the demons to look like. And I have not settled my mind on any specific title logo.

The comic and game will be called “Brimstone Apostle”.

I’m looking forward to hearing your feed back, please feel free to post any imagery you would like to show me below. This is my first time posting anything like this so feel completely free to comment below with your questions or advice. If I have not included enough information in this post comment below and I will edit this thread to include that missing information.

If you would like to discuss the comic art with me, or even if you would like to work with me in the future when I start creating cell phone applications Feel free to e-mail me at Robert.C.Hoole@gmail.com I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for your time.
