Usually I'm not very into colors, but it's a good opportunity to expand horizons

You captured the viscous nature of the lava perfectly. Great work.

Village Idiot, that is freaking crazy. I love the colors. One thing I did notice, and correct me if I am wrong, but the lighting on the boarder seems backwards. The strong highlights would be on his left side and not his right, right? Nice piece regardless.

In my oppinion, theres few things that can match a volcano in beauty, no need to be original.

hehehe, great stuff Laeng, way to go! ya, i realize all these art are beautiful, i dont deny that, but I prefer to see originality over perfection.

I`d like to see the volcano that can beat me!:
Selfportrait, 20 mins with pastels.
An HOUR to realise that that damn scanner really is broken and an hour to realise I want a time-machine to tell the myself of an hour ago that I should`ve gone for the digital camera right away (Just saw 'Timeline', horribly time-travelling movie). (Though the digicam makes the lines a bit blurrier, making this piece less powerful then it is.)

http://a.domaindlx.com/PhoeniXX/A%20tad%20angry.jpg

Great art everyone, which I`ll comment on somewhere tomorrow. Except maybe one.

Laeng: They just dug too deep. But it`s still a great idea. (Sorry, I have an issue with language problems, though I ain`t perfect either. Your not alone though, I drive my mum crazy too)

These are beeeeautiful everyone!! I love the different styles of everyones volcano, but I do have to agree with Shelldragon a little bit. It seems lately the DSG bot has been picking randomly topics that aren't open to a lot of different interpretations...but oh well. c'est la vie!

Laeng-heheh....that's funny!!! Reminds me of Journey to the center of the Earth.

Railboy-hmm....had a lot of experience with this perhaps? Love the colors!! great interpretation.....must watch out for that person!

Village Idiot- Whoa...now there's a sport that I wouldn't want to participate in!...but it'd sure be fun to watch! "who will fall in first" mwa ha haa........

Mr. Man-WOW....Vegas style baby!! Um....know something wierd though? It reminds me of the movie Batman Forever...don't ask me why...my mind makes weird and far out there connections sometimes.

Sinister- you said "your not alone" hehe it should be "you're not alone" heheh SORRRRRYYYY I couldn't resist!!!!!! :D
Don't hate me....eep!

Great job everyone!!

two mini comics for today's dsg, just little sketches, not real masterpieces as you can see for yourself, i just didn't feel like doing a volcano.

I wanted to do something where the volcano was more oozing or something. I was gonna try a constructive plate boundary under the water, but couldn't figure out how it'd look. Besides, that's a job for someone who knows how to use color well.

Today's took me 45min and would not look anywhere near as good as it does if not for ]killing people's tutorial.

 olsen-I really love your line and color work
 village idiot-that's incredible, reminds me of Lava Hockey in issue 12 of Scud: The Disposable Assassin
 Laeng-that was quite clever.

So I had the idea of portraying the Hawai'ian goddess Pele, but I started an hour and 45 minutes ago without any progress that I could say made it suck any less. So I'm quitting, calling it a done sketch, and moving on. Besides, my girlfriend's playing with my hair and now I'm all distracted...

I agree about this topic bringing out everyone's inner impressionists. I should have let mine romp instead of going for the realism I'd thought to accomplish. Yech.
