You have some fantastic pieces here. I really like the vehicle concepts that you've done. But the first image is also very nice. I don't particularly have any critiques, save that the background for the first image seems a incomplete.
Perhaps you just intended to go this far with it. But, it would be nice to see some atmosphere in the background behind the ship(?).
Great pieces, once again. :)

amazing amazing amazing
i love the perspective of the second image and the solidity of those vehicles...
i'm not feeling how the smoke to the right of the battleship is clearing, though ... I can tell how you used the horizontal streaks of smoke to portray a sense of the smoke clearing to show the ship, but they dont seem right...
HOW do you guys do work like these? I cannot fathom the process behind it... my work is always so sketchy I just dont understand how your brains wrap around these concepts!!!

Holy shnikes! I love your pencil work, especially the landscape designs. How many thumbnails or concept sketches do you do before these? Don't tell me that they're just from the hip... I'd go insane (it's like trying to fathom the concept of nothingness).
Thanks for sharing

Alti,
Egerie,
thank you for your comments!
You're bothj right- the tower-city drawing is a concept i've done for a sries of popular science shows done at Meteor Studios, here in Montreal.
I never had a chance to fnish it up with more tonal work and\or color...
I should've used a cd makette for it but went straight ahead without thumbnails- the perspective is a bit "wonky" as a result...

i'm so sorry for late replies, (i'm overbooked at work)
but finally, here it is:
TO EVERYONE, thank you for welcoming me to this great site,
very humbling experience..
skank: i'll be posting new stuff asap amd may i say, alaska is my dream destination, must go visit,
joshuathejames: i love technical interiors, this one was one of many i designed for an animation film
it's like a stew of aircraft carrier machine room and.... tank hatches (hence panzerman)
davi: once more thank you for your first comment, not sure about a favorite but definitely an enthousiast 8)
dohsramu: thanks for the comment, i love whatever is heavily armored, (not that good with planes), you're right, the cloud layer on the sky IS ambiguous (it was supposed to be an overcast, ) i added the smoke for the internally burning ship afterwards, thus it blended with clouds,
hmm, better judgement next time, this was the process: turscan red pencil>warm pantone marker pass>PANIC! IT'S RUINED!>ok, relax:painter>
collapse all the layers>v'la: Flying Dutch (know the legend about the doomed tall ship? i turned it into a dreadnought)
i.was.ink: lol, like your name! yes, i'll have some characters to post but i came late to that and it's painfull although i enjoy it, i really need a second opinion on those! counting on your feedback. hasta la tarde...
blackarts: glad you've liked the girl, i was a bit shy posting it, i'm a late starter on character design, funny: it begun as a nude but half way tru i just had to add the hydraulics and bolts... blasphemy. i would've LOVED to see the original of your painitg you used for your icon... pleeease???
Kunglejing: is it .. Swedish? thank you so much for the feedback, i made extensive research in the piping for the mecha interior but the tripple towers and everything else is straight to the board (with one pass of clean up). yes- nothingness is intimidating but usually there's a spark at the beginning, it's never a totally white page- and what is your process?
The: the chinese market was actually a concept for 2d animation- for kids. it was looong (camera pan) and i posted just an excerpt, i'd like to paint it myself! painter or photoshop, but by now it's a dead end, i'd have to redraw it making it less animation layout... where is svea kingdom?
Zwalharulzuki: thank you, you're kind. i found a real artistry on this site, glad i made it and believe me, i was shy to show my stuff up...
Brachypelman: thank you, will be seing you on this site, a tres bientot!
tayete: i will be posting more, it's my first time EVER on any site, humbling and sooo enriching!
giusep: thank you... what are your interests?
Archangelus: Bro! what a place to meet!!!! Bring your light on... bless you.
imglue: yeah, robots are so much fun! mecha is a mirror of human.
Sketch: thanks! i have most experience in location design, i'm trying to tiptoe my way tru chracter design and paint, less relying on line work. looong way to go
chukw: thank you! we'll stay in touch, lokking forward to your future comments!

Atmospheria: good to be here, thank you. nice icon! your painting?
Dresden: guten Tag! thank for a friendly welcome.
GUYJIN: What a surprise! thanks, i decided to climb down the tree and start walking. I'll be seeing you on this forum.
EVERYONE: this is an awesome artist, my fellow from Ubi, and in many ways my inspiration...
gallenO: bonjour! je serait ravi de voir le reste de ta icone... a++++ thank you for your comment!
Hazart: i'm humbled- thank you!
Main Loop: great people here, i'm overwhelmed... see you around!
Gasmask: the blue pencil something widely used in animation, it's a Dark Blue from a Sanford line, i might have darken the drawing in photoshop, not sure... my favorite is TuscanRed thank you for your feedback!
Loga4: thanks! is "Sjajno" something like "with... guts"?
Swarm: thanks you! looking forward to your comments, i'll be posting more, thanks for the encouragement

Kunglejing... Swedish? My dutch roomy nods that it could be. It's actually Jungle King with... well... you get it =]
Your layouts and perspective drawings are everything I wish I could draw. I'm trying to learn perspective techniques and my biggest obstacles so far are keeping all the guidlines straight and making sure the perspective I setup isn't so distorted.
It's amazing to see such intimate details in your layouts. I'm starting off with putting 'everything' within its own box and at the end... all I see are box shaped objects. The fact you get things to round and curve, to look beveled, concave, or convex... ANYTHING besides boxes... wow. You say you're messy, but your line control is anything but.
I should stop typing before I start grovelling. Thanks for climbing out of the tree, skilled monkeys like you are always a welcome sight :)

Evil,
yep, this is a concept done while I was with Meteor Studios for series of shows "Extreme Engeneering", i had to design how the triple tower would be connected, accessed to and integrated with the lanscape,
The concept was then excuted by 3d artists and rendered as CG animation.
Hope you saw and liked the show!
