I don't know if "dedication" is the right word for that but I've done this B&W drawing for a nice guy, for the release of my Spawn Simony french TPB :

And then I worked again on the scann of the sketch (the character is really static but I try to do something with it)

And here's another recent cover for a RPG book :

These are awesome. The wounded character has a great look of pain....it's a bit hard to tell the sex though, it could pass as a man or a woman (I'm guessing woman). Still, the emotion in that illustration is powerful. Good work!

Thanks ! :)

Blackarts : I know, my clients ask me to draw a pretty girl but because of the situation, I can't draw her really pretty. Pain and wounds don't make you looking pretty.

Lono: The sketch was made at a comics convention. The penbrush I used is very useful : you can draw details but also fill large areas with black very quickly. And there something more instinctive...
That's not a technique that I use often.

I wasn't thinking this quick piece would be as interesting. I'll try to use some more dedications sketches like that in the future...I'll just try to add more movements.
it's funny to use them again like that...

2kre8 : The trees are taken from a photograph and I repaint some parts. What is funny is that's a photograph taken in Ireland 2 years ago when my friend McCambridge invited me there :D

Beautiful work, will you be going to the San Diego Comicon?

Carlo : I really would like to...Maybe next year...but for me it's expensive and I'm not sure I'll be invited as a guest-artist :)
I would be very happy to talk "physically" with a lot of people I've met here on this board and other artists...it would be really cool...
maybe...
if I can...

Btw, all your recent posts were fantastics. I read what you've done before, for special prostethic FX companies.
I remember, when I was younger, that's what brings me into drawing and painting...At this time, I think i would have prefere to sculpt and working on special make-up...

that's all :D

nostalgia :)

The brush-work on the first one is solid, a real joy to look at. The rest don't engage me as much as that but hey, that's just me - I do like them all tho.

I haven't liked Spawn for a long time now. I collected up to like issue 75 then stopped, but I'll start up again now. You have brought life back into the character.
