Profession names

hey guys, im just wondering if i want o be a comic pencil artist right, what would be a more professional name for it? like a animator? or what would it be?

and what would be most important in a pencil artist's portfolio?

That would be "penciller" or "comic book penciller" to be more specific!

If i want to be a comic pencil artist, should i think about going into training thru animation? or thru visual arts?
