Inspired by game updates by 'Frankie', I had quite a vivid image inspired by this part:
The bridge can be driven on too, so the gaping holes have to be both obstacles and gameplay elements, so some of the bent panels can be used as ramps. That means there is a profound danger that you could eat it and plummet into the sparkling waters below either through the gap itself, or as the result of a poorly aimed jump.

My Aiptek 'hyperpen' is acting up, so the sketch didnt turn out as well as I would like. Looks like I will have to save up for a Waxcom.

at the suggestion of bentllama from Bungie, I flipped this so the action is going left to right... (maybe my lefthandedness made this in the orientation it's going) and now I totally hate it. Blech! Those black lines... *sigh* well, when I used to paint on canvas, I would look at it in the mirror to see any inperfections. a good way to help your eye rest from seeing the image for too long. Well, this one is full of imperfections. Well, you live and learn.:bash:

yah! I like it! (look out for the brute!) halo 2 is gonga own me. I've got a halo2 concept pic that I sketched out months ago for the HBO pillar of art contest, but didn't have time to do it. I plan on starting it soon, I'm stoked to see your own inspiration for this soon to be awesome game.

Wow... do it. They were able to hang my pitiful entry at E3 last year for the Pillar of art. I didnt win, but didnt care... got to go to the fanfest and all was well.
Heres my entry to the Pillar Of Art

Hey Cenobite, the image looks really nice. You mentionaed that you're using an Aiptek right now. I've got a Aiptek Hyperpen 8000 (the 6x8 one) that I got as a gift a long time ago. I've rarely used it seeing as I don't really have a program to use it with. I'm planning to get Painter soon and I was wondering if you think I should spring for a Wacom too or if my Aiptek is alright. I hear Wacom's are awesome, but are they good enough to justify buying one if I already have the old tablet? I posted questions about this in the Painter forums, but no one answered. Any direction you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

oh dude! I saw that pic on the gallery! I really like this one a lot. It is very well executed, and more importantly it shows a very dynamic scene with lots of action and funny stuff too (grunt!). personally I like this better than the one that won, your composistion is much more interesting. (oh yah and the banshee is beautiful)

Sweet pic. Uh.. thats all the crits I have for it.
As for the aiptec pen, drop it into a vat of boiling acid, fish out the remains and burn them thoroughly with magnesium or any other common household explosive you can find. Then buy a wacom. The instant I touched my aiptec pen it snaped in half and now randomly skips across the screen. Anyway...

Ahhh! that's exactly what mine does every now and then.. it will just start to skip stuff. I did put a new battery in it, but every now and then it freaks out.
The Aiptek is good if you only doodle around every now and then. A good buy. However, if its your bread and butter, look to a waxcom. I know I cant wait to get one.
oh, and thanks for the crit, JackalAnubis!

I wasnt going to post this,
but here's a QUICK sketch
i did trying to envision a part
of a previous Frankie update
describing a large room filled
with objects to test the
Covenant AI and its skills trying
to find the Master Chief.

The light effects on your first piece are very good!
I think you also did great with the coloring... but the creature in the right corner isn't really well done. ( It's the only part lacking real color! )
Overall: 6.2/10

unnecessary, assigning a number to art kind of kills the purpose here. its not a contest.

Look at it this way:
It's like I'm in an Art Museum and I can pick 1 single painting... in order to make my choice, I have to find my favorites and then decide.

your rating system isn't working, time to knock it off...:bash:

I agree, can the rating system. If it's just for you to figure out your favorites, keep it to yourself. Like someone said, it's not a contest. Sorry, not trying to be ugly, but I've seen you posting the rating in other places, and it just seems inappropriate.

LOL! everyone hates a critic... especially an art critic! One of the first inventions of man. Right after the first cave painting.

Little Mel Brooks reference? :)
It started with the cave painting, then came the art critic. And the next invention after the art critic was the stone axe, for taking care of the mistake we made with invention number two. ;)

Here is this week's FRANKIE'S UPDATE (http://www.halobabies.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3544) concept sketch. I liked the part about :
Just watched a cool aerial dogfight – Banshees, turrets and a bigger Covenant ship. Big buildings, cool textures and some genuine surprises.
Just so you know... storywise the Master Chief is piloting the Banshee in the foreground and things are about to hit the fan.

When people tell you to knock something off because they find it rude or annoying, it's usually a pretty good idea to knock it off instead of digging yourself a deeper hole by making excuses for your annoying behavior.
While we're at it, once again, I'd ask again that you please knock off using the colored font in your posts. (Although I don't think anyone minds you using colored fonts in your sig.)
