Photoshop CS3 cross platform swap

I was under the impression I could send my old student windows CS3 disks back to adobe and get new ones for my sparkly new mac, perhaps with a small charge. I just phoned up to ask and they told me they dont support CS3 anymore and I would have to "update" by buying a mac version of CS5 for £180.

Urm, is this right? Because it does not seem very nice of them, and now I can't use photoshop at all.

It doesn't sound nice, but it makes sense. There've been two versions of the Adobe Suite out since CS3, and Adobe dumps their old versions pretty quickly.

Sigh, it was as I feared. Time to not eat until I can afford it. Again. Hahaha.
