nice stuff! you using maya? i've finally gotten into modeling and i have some pretty neat models which are being held back by rendering...how exactly did you render those, i've never been able to get anything to look like that

eh, good try. Its actually real easy heres the setup: Make a basic plane to rest your model on default color should be a tint close to white, then place a skylight above your model and also give it a tint close to white, but darker than the plane.

Next go up to RENDERING>ADVANCED LIGHTING and select LIGHT TRACER from the scroll down menu, i leave the default settings.

Lastly all you do is go back to RENDER>ENVIRONMENT and lighten up your tint a bit to a dark grey.

now set up your view and render. Its alittle slow, but should get similar results w/ your final render. I hope this helped, and thanks for the comments!

well some bad news, and some more bad news....grrr the guns poly count is in the high 5k range, when i converted it to mesh not poly i guess i got the true tri count that way, soooooooo looks like i gotta get rid of alot of detail/ clean crap up/ and mulires it. *ugh* anyhoo heres what i got done on the light, though now i gotta redo the uvmaps on this too, cause once again the poly count is to high........:bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash:

You definately got the skillz in 3d! Those are some sweet guns...good textures too. I checked out youre website and got a good vibe. You have a good mix of everything and thats refreshing. Id like to see some updated 2d stuff like lifedrawing and studies. Youre probably really busy but hey...i think you definately got something here.

Cat, I agree, gotta post some new stuff on 2d, as well as more tradional stuff (all my lifedrawing and college projects still in storage in Ga 12hrs away)but now im trying to beef up the 3d. I just finished another art test for Gearbox studios, so well see how that goes. Ill try to post more stuff when i can. cheers!!!
