this is a drawing I am working on (doing the lines atm). It builds up from a 3d model I did for a speed modeling session pic (http://n.ethz.ch/student/staublim/download/grumpy.gif ) and thought it would be great to try and detail it more in PS.
I am glad for any coments or crits!

looking good so far, what are you planning for a color scheme?

azjohnl: thanks, I will go for the usual skin type color with one light source, maybe later on will try and add another light source.

I did color him, although he now looks like an old surfer dude... who lost his surfboard? ;)
at some places the lines look strange. will try to make them a better part in the picture, and give the lines in the volume a different color than black.
any thoughts on this one?

I sometimes stop at this stage too with some color and tone under the linework. For more challenging task maybe try to keep painting and remove the linework...
