Hi everyone!

I've been lurking around for quite some time here, lots of great artwork everytime I visit.

Here's a couple of pieces I've done recently. The first one is acrylics on paper + photoshop, the second is all photoshop

love your work! i think we may have met a t san diego, possibly? in any case i have been to your web site before and just eat up the work you are doing. fantastic stuff!

of course i am particularly drawn to the robot, but beyond my obvious interests i think it has life. you have endowed it with a subtle body language. it has become more than just cool shapes but something to understand.

hope to see much more from you.

Oooh, I like them both. But the robot's right leg has a perspective problem. Since the leg is closer then the foot should be bigger. Both feet are the same size so that means the right leg is short and the foot small while the left leg is long and big. Maybe that's why the robot is on the floor because of the uneven legs ;)

Other than that good work, wish I could paint like that :)

Simplicity is key.

The shapes and the control of value looks very simple and like foster mentioned, the body language is what gives em life. Bravo, please post more!

yeah, both are really good, but that bot is especially striking :-)

Very cool. The right foot on the robot looks a bit weird, though.

Both these characters have very subtle anthropomorphic personality traits about them that I find very appealing. For example, the tiny dot of reflected highlight in the slug-creature's eye socket helps to give the critter some soul and make him look oddly cute instead of completely disturbing.

Wow! Thanks for all the replies!

foster> Thank you so much! I've been a fan of your work since I first saw it in a bookshop a couple of years ago. We haven't met though, I haven't been to san diego - or the US for that matter... To find out you're interested in my work is really awsome! :D

Malachi> hey! nice to see you here!

SirRon> Thanks for the comments. Yeah it is a bit wonky, isn't it? I've seen a whole lot of mechs and robots on these boards and I'm quite impressed with the level of technical skill you guys have with this subject.. I still have a lot to learn!

I.was.ink> I toally agree.

DanSTC> it's the little things that does it =) it's always nice to try to work a picture on different levels in terms of content.

Living Rope> :D don't worry about bandwidth, so far i've got plenty

Android> Thanks! I haven't painted an sp in a while now.. maybe it's time for a new one =)

To all of you who didn't get a repy - thank you all so much!
