Hello & Welcome to the Dynamic Energy Challenge - Dynamically Ordinary!

Please read the brief below! :nerd:
Characters:
• 1 or more ordinary people.
Theme:
So - the idea with this challenge is to draw a normal human really dynamically! You can add supporting characters to make more sense of the image if you like - have fun and be creative! The person can be in a superhero environment but must not be a hero or have superpowers.
The only restrictions are:
• 1 final entry per person.
• Your piece must include a normal everyday person as the main focus.
• The character must have a dynamic, energetic situation preferably involving motion!
• This challenge is restricted to non-violent dynamic situations (can involve chase scenes or person in precarious situation)
• Have awesome fun!
------------------------
Deadline - ended!
------------------------
Please feel free to join in anytime - the aim is to have fun!
After the deadline there will be a Poll-thread containing all the final entries that will run for 4 days so everyone can vote for their favourite.

In case anyone's struggling ... you could try something jokey like a kid trying to be his favourite superhero or pick the most ordinary thing you can think of like a mum out shopping drawn from a dynamic angle or you could go a more sporty route like drawing a free-runner or other sports athlete (it doesn't have to be part of the hero universe).
At first this theme can seem a bit odd but once you let your imagination have a good rummage around there are some really interesting options! And for those really into comics - this is a great chance to practice the normal peoples and / or those that need saving!
RrrrrrrrrrrrroooooccKKKKK ONNNNN peoples! :yayca: :rocker:

Here's my entry. It's a portrait of Katie McGrath from "Merlin". Not very "Dynamic", but at least I didn't draw a superhero piece this time!

Errrm - I love the portrait but .. huh?!
Comon guys n gals! Has this topic really stumped you that much?? I've been really busy these last few days (family visiting with all sorts going off - good stuff so don't worry!) so haven't had time myself to start sketching but lets see what I can come up with in 15mins ... if I fail then ok but lets see if its really that tough (this is from scratch with no ideas beforehand)...
...And the result is! Parkour dude leaping from a ledge!
1057567
It's rough yes - but it's a non super powered dude and it's dynamic! Comon I expect more! :anime: Think ENERGY think DYNAMIC! and remember I'm looking for MOTION in this challenge :steph: (the motion can be an ordinary one like just strolling along if the angle shows it dynamically!)
lets ROCK! ... no lets :yayca:ROCK THIS CHALLENGE!!:yayca:
Cheers - and thanks for at least posting something Mahran! Lets see roughs and ideas people!

hey guys quick msg to say i'll try to get something done for tomorrow or the 8th (if the extension is still on) its a bit tough at the mo as my moving date has been moved ahead recently - again its a great idea so im gonna try and at least get some linework in

Nice one MoHog - if you need another extension on the deadline to finish your piece just let me know! I really want our first foray into non-super Dynamic energy to be a good one so if anyone is unsure just get some sketches down post em and ask for feedback :D
All the best with the moving Mo! :yayca:

Hiya, I feel bad now :( please dont yell sir! :D
I have sketched out an idea and have an idea for one more. I've been busy doing a few caricature commissions before my holiday to Spain (and I really need the money) but I'll post that as well as I'm hoping it is more dynamic than what I usually do :D
Thanks for the extension

...Huge polished wooden doors creak shut behind you - the resounding *Kathunk* briefly echos in the darkened room... ahead of you a massive desk and too much shadow to be sure if there is someone sitting there or not. A slow deliberate intake of breath startles you ... 'Hello my fellow artists ... '
1058556
... ahem haha I'll try not to be too scary ;)
Ok I'm going to keep extending this until everyone that said they'd join in has submitted a dynamic pic! It doesn't have to be more than a sketch you've worked on a little if that's all you can do but just post something that's actually dynamic and have a go! Comon! :mod: :painting: :steph:

Hahaha...I like it! I feel lame...but I'm on it sir!
I was looking up some inspiration and found this cool article by Toby Gard (designer of Lara Croft) it has some very interesting points about character design (hope it's useful)

Angel Intheuk: Cool link. But to be honest I'm a bit unsure about taking character design advice from the dude who created Laura Croft when her most prominent features are her huge boobs. But perhaps it's good, I should read through it. :P
Since there was an extension I figured I didn't have an excuse not to join... Here's what I've been doing. Just gotta color it and add a bg...

Tobba I know what you mean :D There are some good points to consider that I'd not thought of before, worth a read :)
The 7Artist7I did 2 very quick sketches, sorry they're not finished I had a caricature to finish for a workmate.
I realise that I didn't really do movement, both are quite static, but I tried to put some personality into the first one, because stereotypical chavs usually think they're being dynamic but there's so many of them looking the same it looks ordinary. The second one was actually a pose I found online, of a farmer doing Tai-chi, thought it filled the brief.

Great start tobbA - Background will bring this piece alive :D
AngelIntheUK - hahaha the chav piece made me laugh as it's so true! Tai Chi farmer's anatomy needs some work but interesting idea! Keep it up :)
Homerid - Spot on! Great piece and would love to see you take it further with some dynamic lighting / sky / atmospheric details (dust etc). You could use this sketch as a base to practice different environmental situations (rain / sun, night / day, cold / hot, etc)
Asatira - hey! Look forward to seeing what you come up with :D

Aww that's a shame Asatira :sadcheerleader:
Ok well this is long enough waiting around for the others - challenge is finished now. AngelInTheUK - which of yours is your final?
Sketch I did by torchlight (the torch died on me halfway through so not bad for not being able to see what I'm doing)

The7 I love your final one, it's so summery and...dare I say...dynamic! :D
I think the chav one should be the final, it's the most finished one and I haven't had time to finish the tai chi farmer. Thanks for including my lame attempts :)

Here's as far as I got. Still not happy with the face but what to do... ^^'
Maybe it's a bit over dramatic :P
Edit: Since nothing seems to have happened I'll upload a more recent version :)

Hey guys! Just wanted to let you all know I've not abandoned this! Was my 30th birthday yesterday so spending time with family!:yum::rocker::hugsmile:
tobbA - the updates looking great! My only crit would be she doesn't seem to be looking at what's happening - this creates a little bit of a wooden expression as she is staring straight ahead. But great dynamic situation :)
The poll will be up in the next few days and I'll be getting the next challenge ready too :D
