Hey. As you may suspect, I am new to this place and I'm quite frankly intimidated. I've always had a love for art, but at the same time I've always maintained the crippling fear of not being good enough as it comes to such.
My speciality (So-to-speak) is strictly paper and pencil. Paints have always turned into an amateur mess, as well as colouring in general, ink... well, I just go over my pencil lines and call it a day -- lax, I know -- and shading and shadowing have always eluded me. Yeah, I know, I need a lot of help.
Anyway, I caught wind of ConceptArt from the oddest of sources and I figured if anyone could help me, chances are, I could find them here. I'd like to consider myself a clean slate, but I will be honest, I am stubborn, so bare with me.
It should be noted that I, admittedly, gave into the anime phenomenon from the beginning. I assume that's frowned upon here, I'm sorry. It's where I started, so naturally it's a hard habit to break. I am trying to subtly evolve; developing my own style while sticking to my somewhat-roots, but where ever I'm pointed, I will say that I will consider walking that way.
I have no work to post at the moment, because really, I've got nothing, period. Anything I draw, either ends up in the trash, erased, or just never gets finished.
Not that I'm not serious about this, but it's been two years since I had any real devotion to art after a disappointing exam result (Though I really did deserve what I got, due to laziness, more than anything else). However, I remember how much I loved it and I am honestly considering a career in it -- particularly comic book illustration (And writing).
Sorry if this seems a bit "Too long, didn't read", but I felt I should say all of this. I'm not quite sure where to begin and I feel very... humbled right now. If anyone has anything to say to show me that they think may help me, please do so. I thank you in advance.
