About lead white: it is really very toxic but I`m don`t see true art without it. If You know about deserving replacement of lead white - tell me please. But I don`t believe that it possible.

Re Lead White: I think this is also sometimes called "flake white" (because it's made with flakes of lead). If that's the same stuff, a lot of art houses carry it (Grumbacher, Utrecht, Winsor Newton, etc.).

I don't usually post, but every time I see one of your paintings I feel the need to. I love that era so much, and I really like that you use it. Just one tiny little problem -- your webpage doesn't load very well on my comp, so I can't see the larger versions...do you think you could post them? I'd love to see them in all their detail!

To me the appeal of seeing things like this "in person" is an issue of scale. That means a couple of things: first, there's a relationship between the size of the piece and you (sometimes the piece is bigger than you, for example. The other is that you can effortlessly move from seeing details to seeing the whole huge picture, which is basically impossible (or let's say a lot less natural) on the computer monitor or in a typical print.

Obviously none of that has much to do with "concept art", but hey... it matters to me!
