this was done mostly in traditional media.. chalk, pastel acryllic, and some fx in PS

Am I the first one to come up with a time-traveling staff that has an hourglass on it? if so, do I get the copyright??!:D

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 predates you by a bit, but it's still a kickass concept =P

nice loose style. I especially like the exotic middle eastern look to the character's clothing.

LOL...im getting confused..am i in a forum discussing TMNT 3 or are we criticing his drawing??? nice drawing and i cant remember if i saw TMNT 3?? if i did i was probably drunk from the bad acting and story line!!!

Nothing to do with the concept. I wasn't claiming it was stolen, or he got a ref, or something else along those lines. I made a joke to respond to Hunger's joke, as there is nothing to crit about his image. The lighting and colors are amazing, and I love the textured feel of the background of the piece on the left. Very old-school Arabian. It's a beautiful piece, and there's nothing, I feel, to say more than that.

So Hunger, do you have any WIP shots or perhaps an early sketch?

Pencilsoldier- I was so going to add a lenseflare filter, but its too canny even when used correctly, plus it doesnt match my style :P

Lavhoes- I saw that movie! I would be lying if I said tmnt didnt have a massive and brainwashing effect on my childhood, so its perfectly legit to make that connection.

when I was designing the character though, I was using ref from a national geographic of a guy who worked at a dusty metal yard (I brought alot of my own design in too).
