Well, I just bought a new Cintiq and was looking forward to using Painter 11 with it but when I opened Painter the Toolbox has vanished.
I've gone into Window menu and checked and unchecked it repeatedly but it's just gone.
Everything else seems to be working fine, all other objects that are normally on the screen are there, but the Toolbox is gone.
I'd really appreciate any help on this, thanks in advance.

Try Window>Arrange Palettes>Default. If that doesn't work then hold Shift when starting Painter to set it back to Factory Default (but remember to save any custom brushes, etc. that you may have created, first).

Joe, you're the best! By going to Arrange Palettes/Default it brought it up. Thanks so much. This was making me crazy. I was on the verge of uninstalling and reinstalling Painter which would have been a real hassle.
Your second suggestion and my re-installing idea bring up another topic. How do I save my brushes and brush palettes? I've not made any original brushes but I have dozens of variants that I've made and I have several palettes (one with pencil/charcoal another with gouache/Oils etc). I'd like to be able to save the variants and palettes. How do I do this? I tried it a couple of times on my own but was rather confused and not certain that the method I used was effective. I'd also like to save them to an external disc in case my hard drive crashes.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again for your help.

pg,
I only know Windows but all your customisations are normally found here: C: \Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Corel\Painter 11\Default

Hi Joe,
I'm using Windows 7. So if I copy the contents of that folder, (C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Corel\Painter 11\Default), to a disk, then copy the contents back into this folder after a fresh install I should have all my brushes and brush palettes back?
The problem with backing this stuff up is the only way you know if it works is if you have to restore. So far I haven't had to, but worry about all my brush variants being lost if it doesn't work.

You can always change where you want to save your brushes. I usually save it to my desktop so I can save it to a keydrive. I tend to take my brush settings to other machines and load them there so I won't have to keep search for brushes and adjust them as I see fit, repeatedly. I do the same with paper textures.
(This is for brushes) You do that by going to windows, custom pallete, organizer, and a new window should pop up. You can rename you brush pallets there and just export it to desktop. You should be able to use your custom pallete on any machine with Painter. Not sure if you can go back to earlier versions of Painter though. Have fun paint with the program.

Thanks Beelow,
I exported them. I'll try importing them to an earlier version of Painter I have on another computer.
By the way, nice sketchbook.
