I have big problem: I need white lead but this material is forbidden in Russia. May be somebody knows where I can find it?

Kinda medieval in appearance. I like it. Question though, why is white lead banned in Russia?

please, if youre going to say a piece is boring, at least tell them WHY you think so...these kind of comments dont do anyone any good.
i like the colors youve used on this, very consistant thruout the painting. also your rendering is quite nice as well. i think tho that the 2 figures on either side hurt the composition a bit, i know youve done this after the classic style, and they did things like that alot in their paintings...but i think they throw an un-needed sense of symmetry to the painting.
great work tho ! keep it up!

boring? oh lord no, this is wonderful. at first glance, i see a very classical painting, traditional through and through. a closer look (thanks to the larger image) reveals explosive color and movement. this brings back the few fond memories i have of my art history classes.

This painting is wonderful! Very classic. Were you asked to paint this in a Church? Cuz it would fit beautifully.

I think thats just a rude comment, If you don't like the painting just move on. I know I would hate to have some one say that to one of my painting lots of work goes into painting like this.
To PainterIlya it look great I love the great blends of colors and the blance of the peace.

Just ignore MuizChulan. His statement is very hypocritical considering his 'thread (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19447)' which went on and on about his tutor giving him critiques on his work that he didn't like.
I really enjoy it. Very VERY classical, and very VERY impressive. I look forward to seeing more work from you. Keep it up!

i love this painting. great combination of traditional painting techniques and traditional subject matter with a modern critique of the church and religion. the painting is beautiful, it looks almost like a fresco. the palette is also very stong and matches perfectly with the subject.
do you have any more recent paintings?

This forum is supposed to be a place for support and constructive criticism. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, but let's try to offer a little more than just "boring."
PainterIlya, wow, what the heck are you trying to do here? I for one would like to know before I comment. You've obviously achieved a great deal, and I'd like my comments to be as insightful as possible (if you're interested).
BTW it's "lead white" you're looking for, not "white lead." It's banned everywhere I know of because it's highly toxic. Painters have actually died from prolonged exposure to it. It's bad stuff. There are lots of other whites available. I know, I know, you want to use the same materials as the old masters... but their life expectency was like... 34 or something!

MuizChulan is just sad because his work is crap, and his art teacher informed him of this fact. Now he's taking out his anger on others.

I'm ashamed that someone from the same country as me would give such a comment! Personally I like it alot. Renaissance style is always good in my book but I'm also quite suprised that people still use this kinda painting style. In addition, I'm a Christian so subject matter appeal alot to me. Keep it up dude!:D

MuizChulan's post is obviously a cry for attention, there's no other explanation for his rude comment. Please try to ignore his idiocy.
Your pic looks good from what I can see in the small version. I tried to view the higher res pic, but it wouldn't load for me (even though I'm on a high speed connection). Please, post more. :)
Oh, and stay away from leaded paints unless you've got a death wish. They're illegal for a reason. ;)

liquid, I had the same problem. I just minimized the window and it eventually loaded. It's probably on the side of the server that has the image on it. 1 KB/sec or the like. But it does come up... after awhile.

I do believe there has been a miscommunication here.
It`s not the painting that is boring,It`s me.
I feel really boring at that particular time because my girlfriend wants me to go shopping with her.
Y`all know how boring it is to be shopping with a mature girl rite?
So,painter Ilya,are you still single?

Just because you feel boring doesn’t mean the painting is. I kind of felt a little sympathetic because of the new ass hole they ripped for ya, but I really think you deserve it. I've met a few of you when I went to Art School and people like you pride issues and think their stuff is the best and everyone else’s is "boring" that attitude wont get you anywhere.
After seeing the larger painting I see that there is a lot of symbolism. When I sit in concemplation for 10 minutes thinking about it, I like it.

This is a pretty cool painting . Im still trying to figure out exactly whats going on. Are you trying to show that the shadowy guy is fragmenting the picture and revealing the reality of the 1500s? Are you saying something about the old masters or maybe moderns?
