HI all.

I've been scoping this forum for a while. Wow some incredible ability from alot of people, that's for sure.

Anyway, I thought I'd start my posting here witha quickie 30 minute sketch of a character I've been working on named Daemus. Forgive the fact that it's not painted nor is it anything fantastic, but my next work should be a bit more impressive.

I think it is a very good start yet some shades and shadows are needed here bro an maybe the size of his right hand relative to his body - too big .

Nice work - waiting for more

Thanks for the crit.

Hmm. Maybe the right hand is a tad too big. But it isn't that much bigger in scale than the left one. Plus, the whole idea that the drawing's proportions are totally askew from realism is the point. Super deformed art goes by different
rules.

As for shading, that's one thing I don't often do. I just don't find it to be necesssary. I'm a line art nut. I can work in many styles because of that, and adjust myself to fit an existing one. Also, I don't usually shade with a pencil because anything with potential I'll paint digitally anyway.

I dont think I'm going to take this any further though. It was just a quickie.

Ah someone from my homeland ^^. Welcome to CA.

My crit is... the right forearm looks kinda "squished" and mangled but it's not bad. My eye didn't go straight to it.

Kewl sword.

Cool. Thanx RefrigeratorCo. Yeah that arm does seem a bit squished too. Hmm.

PS: Homeland? Huh?

I really like the shoes very different from regular boots. Will you be coloring it?

Nope. No color. As said this was just a quickie. I'm actually usually very detail oriented in my work. I rigorously paint textures and concepts all day lately at work, and paint slowly to relax when I get home. Because I go slow with my own work, and take my time, I have to be choosey about what I take the time to paint. When I do post something finished you'll see why this doesn't qualify for the "to be painted" list.

Simply don't have the time, sigh.

Pretty damn sweet, man. I dig the eyes, they look robotish.:)

Yeah his eyes are almost robot-like. He's got a blank stare going on, but that intentional. He's glaring off nowhere.
