Hi

i'm new to digital art, in fact, new to art too. Anyway, I'm doing this tutorial from a magazine and it's actually for intermediates and I'm really a beginner, so I'm finding I have to do mini-tutorials just to do some of the steps in the tutorial. Anyway, step 8 requires me to use the smudge tool with a #36 Charcoal Smear brush, but I can't find this brush. Is it on photoshop by default, or how do I load it, where do I find it, or do I have to install it into photoshop.

David.

Not sure if this is it but there are charcoal brushes under the Natural brushes in the photoshop default, use the brush tool then right click > click on the little arrow > click on the Natural brushes.

Did the magazine come with a cd ? CDs normally come with resource files like brushes.psds etc

It's on there by default, you probably didn't find it because it looks a lot like the chalk and watercolour brushes.
