Are there any good tutorials for modeling characters in Maya?

Modeling in Maya isn't my forte but I'm modeling a creature-character for a project. All the Google searches I did were tutorials for modeling the human body.

Are there any tutorials that are modeling specific to four legged animals or any creatures (a simple/cartoony fish, gargoyle, something of that kind) but is not of the human body?

Video and image tutorials are greatly welcome and any links would be appreciated.
