Hey. I'm new on here.
Actually I've registered to improve because I think that the constructiveness of critics/comments is much better here than elsewhere on the web.(:
So. Here are my self portraits. :D Starting with 2006.

photoshop. drawn from photo I think though I'm not sure. :-s

hihi. that's a lino cut (no it's not the print. the print came out ugly.) :D that was in my first year of 'art school' (though that one wasn't really an art school. It was more hilarious then anything art...), it was a task. I think it counts as self portrait, those are my hands, drawn and cut with my hand from my hands :D
early 2008

july 2010, mirror, oils. me, gone terribly wrong. :D I made this one night at 3:30 a.m.,feeling like I needed to PAINT. Well. I'm not sure whether it's the left eye or the nose that left it's destination but I think it's most likely the nose.
Anyway my other oils-self portrait (which I made for school back in february) is right now rotting in a corner at my mothers' house, waiting to be put on a wall..which will luckily never happen I think, though my mum likes it a lot more then this one. She screamed when she saw it. xD)

I like these a lot. I'd be interested to see a long study of yourself. Keep it up =)

thank you! (:
What exactly do you mean by long study?

Sure.
well, I'm guessing most of these were done in one sitting? I would set aside some time each day for a week, and work on one self-portrait for a longer period of time that you have in the past. Really find your weak points artistically, and make corrections. Get a really worked drawing/painting of yourself that was done from life. Would be great to see what the outcome of that would be. Don't be afraid to go back and erase, fix mistakes, or change a viewpoint. Sometimes those marks are what gives the drawing or painting the life it needs to really show yourself. Giving the artwork it's own history of mistakes and corrections and learning opens a window to the artists history.
at any rate, keep up the good work. =)
