I use Winsor & Newton gouache. they're pricey, but the quality is excellent.

I like it. The only thing i noticed which is major is the reflected light under your chin is off. The value is too light, its almost as light as the side of the face that receving direct light which cant really happen when its in shadow. Its alittle to pink too.
Great over all feel.

You are crazy, I could never do anything like that, or that large, in gouache. How do you get by its translucency and drying quickly? I had to do a few gouache pieces at the beginning of this school year, for my first time ever, and I still don't have a hang of it.

hey thanks guys
nick reynolds - i agree with your suggestion.. i have a thing for light under the chin, and I know this is way too bright. I just thought it looked purty. but i agree with you :>
DaemonMagus - I took a gouache class and immediately hated it, because as you said it dried quick and i think it handles weird. it's all in the palette, by mixing your colors before you start to paint. it sounds kind of mechanical (i'm not at all) to premix everything, but it helps a lot to paint in swatches. also, squeeze out more paint than you need.
Maruchan - go for it, it's a lot of fun, even if gouache can be temperamental sometimes
