Spartan Camp #143 - 50 gestures + Optional "One pose - two versions" Study

The aim is to produce 50 gestures by Sunday the 25th of July.

- The gestures can be of anything, human, animal, cavorting capybaras.... You can draw full figures, but you can also go for heads, arms, eyes, or anything specific. All media can be used, both digital or traditional. Coloured or black/white. Quick scribbles or long studies. Imagination or referenced. Clothed or nude. Specifics are up to you!

- In addition to this, participants can choose to do an Optional "One pose - two versions" Study, in any medium.
Additional notes on this weeks’ Optional Study: *placeholder*
Colour, medium, time frame, any specifics are up to you! Have fun!

50 poses is a challenge, but don't hurry or stress yourself reaching it! Focus on drawing, as practising is the main goal of this exercise.

Critting each other is highly encouraged!! Share constructive criticism, reference and resources!! Let's help each other get better!

Come on soldiers! Flex those muscles!!

Guess I better get things started, only a couple days left!!

Here's about 16 for today, a little bit longer on them so there's fewer. I'm not that impressed with them, but I think I'm improving my proportions a bit. Still looking through bridgman right now.

Alright, hope to see you all here soon!

eekolite - Well you say that you're not impressed with your drawings, but studies don't always have to be aesthetically pleasing. They look plenty educational.

The last picture is a few attempts without reference.

eekolite - Bridgman! Nice to hear, I'm sure you'll pick up quite a few things from his methods and views. I can see you are struggling with the proportions - in a way. They can be tricky in these long and slender poses. But it's good practice to not loose track of the 'whole' picture while working on details. I like the bottom left one. Those daring, tense gestures are tough to pull off.

aprat - whew, nice values! You can always squint your eyes at the reference and your own picture to get a simple value breakdown. Could be helpful at times. Careful with those really dark details - it can be tempting to accentuate details with really sharp and hard lines. I agree on your notion by the way - I tend to forget that too. Nice going!

Angel Intheuk - I like how you achieved these results with so few lines. I'm not always fond on too much posemaniacs but I think these are really smart studies. You found some important shapes and took them down in a few strokes. For example the second pose in the second scan. Seems spot on.
