Steampunk Parade Armor, for parades, marriages, funerals, all kinds of formal occasions in your everyday steampunk world. Heavy and hot, totally unpractical.
I think it's my first post?

You really didn't put much effort into the design of the leg armor..

Interesting job, although if its an armor design i would expect it to more functional. ALso, (dunno if the image will show up, damn tripod) he looks a bit like trigun character to me; http://jadulhaq.tripod.com/vash.jpg You might wanna lessen the resemblence.

I love the top half....
Let me explain. Right when the page first loaded and I read your description of the armour, I thought it was going to be a sort of coat that you would wear(with head included)for all the occasions that you mentioned. So the way I saw the top half, I thought GREAT!, but then I scrolled down and saw his whole body, and was a little dissapointed...:(
What I would do is to leave it hollow in the center, like a coat, and have it hanging on a steampunk coat hanger. You could also do a series of them. One coat for marriages, one for parades, funerals, etc...
I love the rendering, I just think the coat idea would make your desing of the character much more unique.

Yeah Vash the Stampede mixed with the bug guy from Naruto. A sweet pic all the same.

Oh please guys, the only resemblance is in the style of the hair, which isn't even the same. He's also wearing goggles, not sunglasses.
kinnas- The paint job is great. What program/ brushes did you do this in? And how did you get that awesome looking background? My only crit is that the hand on the right seems to be nonexsistent when it meets the other hand holding the flower.

Wohoo, this thread just popped up, as I left another one, and hey: Fortunately it did so!
I love the background of the picture. Really dig this texture look you achieved. And, yeah, this guy and his armor kick ass! sweet shit :P

Hard Creation > looks like I got 3 :P still, I'm all ego now from getting any stars at all
Ant4d > thanks.. and.. update your thread!
LiL QoH > busted I guess. both by the time I was finishing the pencils and the time I was painting it over I had gotten rather tired of it.
Yutani, Aldy, freakedintheface, Blue Severin > hmm.. I do know who Vash is, similarities are unintentional, unconciously perhaps, I did like his glasses and hair way back when I saw it.
Pencil Soldier > Photoshop, no fancy selfmade brushes. Mostly the round one and some custom ones that come with ps. The background was blocked in and then smudged (yes, the dreadful smudge tool) with custom brushes to give it texture.
Jeff Jaws > thanks : )
I.was.ink > yeah.. I like the coat idea actually, though my english is failing me right now, could you be more specific of what you meant by "hollow in the center"?
