Great stuff so far. Love the employee of the month.

I've gone for something we could have now, if Sony stopped wasting it's time making plastic dogs and got down to business.

Argh I am so stupid, I Haven't seen the "robot" in the title. :bash:
( I drew a Maid but not a "robot maid" )

Euhh... I have a question : What does "bulter" mean ?

Ian Mack
February 28th, 2004, 11:02 AM
Kinda like the male version of a maid.

Does the name 'Jeeves' ring a bell?

OrganicJerk

Butler: (n)
1 : a manservant having charge of the wines and liquors
2 : the chief male servant of a household who has charge of other employees, receives guests, directs the serving of meals, and performs various personal services

Here's mine. I too went for the little French Maid robot. 1 1/2 hours in Painter. No photo reference (but it undoubtedly would have helped)

http://www.jenniferwilliamson.com/dailysketch/robotmaid.jpg

Bgermain - like the cartoon look to it. LOVE the condom dispenser.
Chermilla - woohoo! Love the sketch. A cyborg robomaid! She looks like she could actually BE a sexbot...mine would be a bit...err...chilly.
Love all the rest....Ceenda for pointing out the cynical dark side of robotic servants; Mr Man, Guns1linger and Toinjoints for their takes on the more practical applications.
Illy - love the motorized duster, but something about her torso is bugging me. It seems a bit long and her breasts don't seem to be attached to her torso correctly....though of course I suppose you could always blame it on the fact that she's a robot...
Y2Korean - can't say I've watched your reference, but your drawings reminds me a lot of Charles Addams' family work. Fantastically moroose feeling.

Just a quickie from me today. My favourites so far are from Swan, bgermain and Ceenda, but lots of interesting interpretations. Good stuff!

the topic reminded me of the animatrix and that thought strenghtend with morr's picture.so i drew this guy and if you know the animatrix, you know what he could have done.that specific scene gives me the creeps when i think about it.
http://img1.photobucket.com/albums/1003/fisite/servantrobot.jpg
hope it looks somewhat like butler.

Frankly, I find mine a little frightening. Probably because as soon as I saw today's topic, I immediately pictured a robot in a speedo. I scare me sometimes. :D

http://img30.photobucket.com/albums/v90/gealflings/dsgbot.jpg

Bgermain: Yours killed me! Awesome job - such a horrifying combination with the accountant in there. :D
Ceenda; yours is my favorite so far - I really like the atmosphere.
Matt: Your talent stuns me. You're utterly inspiring - I really like your use of color.
Carnifex: I've never seen Animatrix, but I find yours oddly disturbing.
Swan: Nice! Yours has some very appealing lines and great flow. Or something. :D

No time for color today. The outline would look cleaner, but I drew half of it on the canvas instead of the above layer. :/

http://www.offramp.org/~ducktape/367.gif

Maybe I'll color it later. I used Anthony Hopkins from "Remains of the Day" for the facial reference.

Here's my pencil sketch done in about 2 hours off and on throughout the day.

Reference was used for the outfit and pose. I had way too many images of Sorayama paintings in my head as well.
http://www.shawnadomanis.com/dsg/dsg367.jpg

illy - Nice work. I love the apparatus on her left arm.
toinjoints - Very nice take on the subject. Well done too. At first I thought it was a photograph.
ceenda - Kick ass, early-industrial time, looking robot. Out of work I guess.
Chermilla - Nice first post. Looking very slutty too. Welcome.
bgermain - Condoms!!! Hahhaha. Great! It reminds me of the Pepboys Logo.
Swan - Great job as usual. The table looks a bit floating, since there is no shadow below, but there is for the robot. I usually don't use references either, and pay for it later. I actually did today.
Matt Dixon - Very nice Jevees 500 model.
Jook - Wow. Love the contrast. And what a great robot.
Hunger_Artist - Cute. So she's a prrrrrring robot?

Til tomorrow...

Did this sketch in about an hour, after playing with different heads and bodies. I had many ideas for the coloring of it..BUT couldn't carry them out due to my tablet screwing up, and I didnt feel like trying it all with a mouse, so I lost interest and colored it in 5 minutes with the paint fill and brust tools....eh.

As far as the design, I tried to take the "commercial" aspect of it, and go for a more streamlined, common look. I figure the normal person's servant robot wouldnt be all tricked out with metallic shine and crazy wires everywhere.

Great work so far guys...I'm likin

Nimrod- I like it.. Great interpretation.

HungerArtist- Tres cool. I like the pallete and the drawing.. Oh right.. I guess it's one of those realiztic looking robot.

Jook- You have a nice idea going there.

schmu_20mol- Great quickie.. I think your picture conveys the concept really well.

Matt Dixon- Excellent as usual. I like the robot desigh a lot; Although he looks more like a manager than a butler. He just looks too cool to take orders from anyone.

ceenda- great picture

I only had time for a quick one today.

http://pluh.com/members/baldy/DSG/Robutler.jpg

Mister Diamond Industries Incorporated Inc. has just unveiled their latest product to the world, The Robutler. Said to be the biggest thing since the robot bread slicer they unveiled the year before, the Robutler is ready to take the world by storm.

By any means necessary...
