I am working on a Character I created named Turbine. I need some help with concept ideas. He has a jet turbine on his arm to shoots thrust of air and he ahs 4 smaller jets on his back to counter balance the large thrust. I need some advie on him ...anything will help...accessories. I didnt render his wires but he has some wires going from his turbine to his backpack. Here he is...paint over welcome :)

First of all, let me say I admire the amount of time you've put into this piece already. :)
That having been said, my only real issue with him is that take away the backpack and arm... he's just a generic guy. I know this was just a quick render but it's imporant to think about this as the base of your concept.
Maybe you should develop his physical biology first; are the mechanics somehow integrated with him? How would you show that? Why does he have need for these rocket packs? Is he a delivery man, a super hero or a spy? What about his legs, what part to they play in flight?
Also, consider this guy's personality. Is he hot tempered? Shy? Good at yodelling? What visual references could you use to show that?
Basically, you have some good nouns on this character... now give those nouns purpose.
I'm sorry to answer your question with questions; that can be annoying. But, I feel that if you answer even a few of these questions yourself, you'll be on your way to making a successful character.
...and that is my two cents.

I think he might need wind googles for flying.
Plus, a harness of that size would weigh really heavily on a body's frame. I'm surprised he can stand up. Maybe there's more flight armor to support everything? Or maybe he's super strong? I dunno. willow-whisp is right, ask some more questions about him.

Thanks for the great ideas. Awesome comments. Maybe I should have given some more background on the character. He is a rich playboy that just has money to burn. So the Turbine system is just some insanely expensive piece of gear that he had his people build. He goes around doing company take overs by going in at night and stealing information from their systems. The hero will be the new batgirl. It's just gonna be a suped up piece of fanart :)
He is arrogant snotty and an extreme pretty boy. That should come out in some of the fight sequences that I have written. Tonight I will post a quick animatiic of the shots I have blocked out so far. I thought I had finished the characters, but I want to give hm that extra push.

another thing is, you should maybe try to design the rockets so they would work in a logical sense. from the picture you are showing, they seem that they would push him forward and down... but i'm assuming you want him to fly upward. so, you might wanna keep that in the back of your mind also.
looks cool though. keep it up! :chug:

Those rear rockets are for stabilizing. The main flight will be handeled with the big Turbine. There are actually 4 rockets back there, 2 facing up and 2 facing down (the arms are covering them up) and they will be movable too, depending on how he is shooting the main blast, they will adjust so that he wont be pushed backwards when he is firing a blast. Hopefully this weekend I should have the turbine system complete and wired so that I can animate it all with sliders. I need some help with some cool accessories. He is getting goggles and a respirator but I need to design them so they retract into his collar piece in a cool way. There is a part in the animation where he retracts that stuff so you can see his face. Any advice on things I could add like gauges, wires, compartments...etc will be very apreciated.
Thank you guys for the kind words. It's very motivating.
