Another Mortal Kombat movie in the works. It looks like a complete reboot of the movies, so just ignore the first 2. The trailer looks promising. Anyone else excited for this?

True. Still I'm not opposed to the idea of this being a half decent movie. The 8 minute trailer managed to keep me interested the whole time so I'm betting that it'll at least be entertaining. Hell the other 2 mortal kombat movies were pretty bad but I could still watch em
EDIT: Also worth mentioning: I hear right now it's more of an elaborate movie pitch than something in development right now. So it's possible it couldn't be made at all. But yeah dick move stealing that other guys work though

Funny you should bring this up seeing I just found this (http://youthoughtwewouldntnotice.com/blog3/?p=6495) today. haha
But yeah, this movie looks like it will be decent enough for a boys night out with beer and junkfood. But who knows.

I haven't seen it yet but I've heard some pretty good things about Prince of Persia. And I personally liked the Silent Hill movie (I know it was pretty stupid, but I still like it).
Anyways, about the actual trailer. I love the work Christopher Nolan has done on Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. But I feel like I'm going to kind of hate it for the influence it has. Hopefully we won't see like a bunch of gritty reboots of things that have no business being gritty. I mean the game is about magic ninjas for fuck sake! Nothing they can realistically do will make it seem real.
Its kind of like how, right after Watchmen came out (the comic), the entire industry was inspired not by the good story telling, but by the "grim and gritty" style. So we ended up with a decades worth of graphic novels that never even came close to the inspiration.

I wonder what the idea behind this was... Seems like "you know what'd be cool? If mortal kombat wasn't mortal kombat.". Same names and otherwise totally different :O

I wish they understood the since of humor MK was based on. If Michael Jai White were to write and direct it then I would take this joke seriously.
