What? CRAP???! That, my friend, is far, far from crap. That armor the guy is wearing is one of the coolest things I've seen on this site.

The suit of armor is really cool. The blade or the crescent shape look a little out of perspective, but that's the only thing I can crit.

That's f#kkin' cool! The detailing, the structure... look at that foot! :chug: There's somthing funky about the shape of the upper most plate- a perspective kind of thing. The only part of this crap that bugs me is the dude's face. Too human. Looks like he's wearing the coolest halloween costume EVER! Is it within job parameters too go weird and... crabby? Cool stalked eyes, mandibles, creepy little feelers? That's just opinion on my part- :)

besides the crescent being out of perspective, I think the arm holding the weapon is too small compared to the other one.
Great design though....love the colours too.......always been a big fan of orange!

I think the dude should have Eye stalks on the top of the carapace. They can be purely ornamental, but that is just an opinion. Extremely cool concept.
I would like to see you make human armor from other large aquatic seacreatures. How about a Lobster man and a Turtle man?

if he is a human wearing pieces of another animal, i'd add some stitching and barding and straps to hold this thing together. but is subtle ways, like at the joints and stuff.

i like soulsaver's idea too, with the ornamental eyestalks on top.

i'm not a huge fan of the torso, i think it's a gap in the desgn. crabs have this chestplate with an overlap called a "bib", i think. they are segmented in a cool way that i think you could use.

i'd also make the spear more coral-like or give it some nice crustacean curves.

The concept and the rendering are so good on this that I didn't even notice any of those techical problems until these other guys pointed them out. I think that's a good sign.

really tho, i think the only size difference is the gauntlet.

i really like this design man, its very creative! i think even just changing his skin color would make him look a little less human. (unless hes sposed to be) and i also agree that mayber if you made the weapon look a little more like it came fromt he sea, it would set the piece off even more.

i like it but i would change the design and get rid of the human head in there, and give him an alien/ crab face instead. i'd also give the feet some more love.... change them foot boots to a weird shape. hope that helps... your work is great!

All I have to say about this crap is that you should give him some giant crab arms coming out of his back! Hehe...
It's kinda hard to crit. Is it done? Anyway, your painting reminds me of Prometheus' style. I like how you use bold, visible strokes. The rendering is all really nice. Uhm, the blade and staff are colored in a way that confuses the way it's leaning/going. Other than that I'd say add a bground cuz it looks like he's walking out of something. Also, add some congruency between his weapon and armor, it looks like he stole the blade from someone who doesn't look like him at all.
Anyway, I dig it.

Nice work. Just have to say that I get the feeling that the spear doesn't fit in. The body has a little more of a relaxed painted feel, but the spear leads towards comic art. Nice look though.

I really like the concept. You should have some barnacles growing on his weapon. or have little bits of seaweed dragging behind him. Great stuff...
