Hi there. I've been browsing these forums for quite a while, and thought that some of you might be able to help me out.
I'm a junior in high-school, and have taken studio art courses for the past two years. I'm familiar with pencil, charcoal, oil, chalk, acrylic, india ink (felt pen), colored pencils, and watercolor. I've recently been interested in computer graphics, (such as drawing on wacom tablets and using Painter) but I do not have anyone to learn from.
My question is this: Do any of you know of any summer courses (or even annual courses) that focus on using tablets and digital painting? I'd really love to learn this stuff and work on my digital portfolio before I begin applying to schools, but I have thus far found nowhere in or near Chicago that offers introductory courses of this nature for high school students. I've checked out the Art Institute of Chicago, Westwood, and Illinois Institute of Art, but to no avail.
