View Full Version : Question about brush behavior, as seen in Dusso's DVD

Hey everybody,

I've been bugged for a long while by my brushes, and especially the creation of a nice multi-purpose, do-it-all brush.

When I allow my brush opacity to fade with pen pressure, I find I get a lot of streaking, whenever one brush stroke overlaps another and they superimpose to create something much more opaque than either stroke on its own.

When I disable brush opacity fading with pen pressure, I find I just don't get the variation in the values that Dusso (and others) seem to be getting in their work. I end up constantly eyedropping to get a new value, which is alright, but seems less than ideal, especially when blending and trying to mix colours.

Anyway I'm just curious if anyone has been having similar frustrations, or can recommend/post a brush, or knows what settings would solve this problem.

Or maybe it's all in my head?

Thanks ahead of time.

p.s. some of my attempts at speed painting, with no opacity variation on pen pressure:
