Needs an environment, then it'd be solid. You could also push some of the values a bit more, and add some more intense highlights.

I like it, I would do the whole hilight thing and that eye could be a differten color and maybee shinning heavy light. I tend to like the simple drawings, without the backgrounds, but it would be nice to take that monster to another level since it suggets that it should be in a dark chaotic environment.
