Mission - short inspired by love and alien abductions

I made this short film in 2 months for my animation final at the community college I attend. Hope some people here might enjoy it. It's a bit rough all around but it came out ok and I got an award and certificate from the school for it.

Animations were hand drawn and backgrounds were scanned and painted digitally. Needs work, gonna at least refine the backgrounds for possible portfolio pieces :sungod:

Everything looks pretty cool. If anything, the BGs could use a little more depth to them. Like some sort of ambient gradient or something to push things forward and other things to the back.

Of course you said it was rough, and I'm pretty sure you meant the animation. So I guess the only obvious thing about the animation would be to just smooth it out with some more tweens and then kill it with the inks and colors.

But yeah, so far so good.

Thanks for the feeback. Well I'm definitely gonna work on some of the backgrounds more so I'll keep that in mind, thanks :sungod:

That was my first attempt at animating, I think I just need more practice with the basics (squash and stretch, inbetweens, etc), I was really focusing on getting the acting across that I lost focus of fluent animation. That and the workload was piling up.

I'll be taking another animation class next sem, so I can use part of summer to brush up and get better.
