So we finally get to see some of those marionettes of yours! And they're every bit as creepy as I expected them to be!

They are really expressive - I like the faces very much, but the hands also look good. My favorite is the bowl of faces :)

Jiangzu, Ah, thank you so much, I am happy that you get it! Yes, I wanted Scarymouch to look rough-ish, and almost necrotic, but that came after I found his face in a ball of clay one day. I found him to be creepy as well with his sardonic smile that almost fools you really kind'a creeps me out. He is one of my Favs. I will have to show you his finished incarnation as an executioner dressed lavishly in silk with a huge axe in one hand, and a dead, rubber chicken in the other.
I don't know...

Evilivo, Thank you very much, I am glad you liked them, I actually finished my first book and used some of these characters as the main focus of the book. { 79 chapters, Whew...}
I love making little hands for the puppets, You can put so much emotion in their poses, they seem sweet and childlike somehow, feet are fun too. The whole process is cool because you can see your creation come to life. Kinda makes me sound like Frankenstein or something but it is true.
Glad you liked them, I guess I should take some pic's of the finished products and post them too.
I'll try,

These are a blast Man! The only masks I have ever made were Tengu so I can appreciate the fun involved in making these.

Great expressions, creepy as hell though :)
My fave Captian Tres' Nastee.

Waipunga, Thanks, glad you liked them. I love making the marionettes,{ string puppets,} because there are several layers of creativity involved, first the concept , the sculpts, the molds, the paint on the castings and then make a wooden body with articulated joints ,{ that bend properly} I make " mortise and tenon " joints for the elbows, knees, and shoulders. Then when thats all done, you have to make a costume and then the strings and controllers.

TeaMonster, Thanks sweetie, its ok, they are supposed to be creepy,
I like the captain too.

Pretty much everything that comes out of my head tends to lean to the dark and twisted side of things, so naturally, dark, twisted, morbid, and blackly humourous appeals to me....
