Hey guys, I am currently studying Law in Australia but I am becoming more and more disillusioned by it, to tell the truth I'm studying it because I got the marks to get into it. I had always wanted to train and work as a concept artist, I was discouraged from this path because of the isolation of Western Australia where I live and the general perception that there isn't much of a living to be had by it.
basically my main issues are that its hard to get good work and that work might not even pay much. Can any one here enlighten me on this? I'm thinking of dropping law to pursue art ( even though I'm doing moderately well at it). But i don't want to do anything stupid if it isn't a viable move.
I would regard myself as a better than average drawer, although most of the people here far surpass me. I've recently bought a Wacom Intuos 3 and plan to start posting once I get it 'warmed up'.
can anyone in the industry help me out here? just letting me know what its like to be a concept artist would help me allot.
