Hello to all, my name is Philip Witte, i am 16, a junior in highschool. what i am starting this thread for is to ask about, art collages, so rly i want to hear from people who have already been there, or are trying to get in, any feedback is wecome of course.

basiclly, im exploring diffent careers, and art(somthing i like to do) is one of the big ones. i would want to be a concept artist for games and stuff. the biggest proble is.....im failing high school. k, i can graduate, throu an alternative school.

so the main question i want anwsered is.. is it possible for me to get into a desent art school, with only a portfolio, and not full highschool credit? if not what would be the best path to take?
sorry i know these are questions i should ask my counsler and school, but i thought you all might have better feed back.

heres some of my work:
sorry bout the bad quality, had to size them with a bad tool. 8)

your best bet is to e-mail the schools. they all are different but i do know that the better art schools, calarts, rsad, risd all do require transcripts to be sent, so they will look at your grades. places like academy of arts in san fransico might be a good school for you since they have low requirements for getting in, but with those low requirement you also get students who arent very good and not movated, but do some searches on schools find the ones you like, email them and find out exactly how much they look at grades.

if you get into a lower standard school, and do well there w/ grades and art, then after a certain # of credits, you can apply to other schools as a transfer student and they'll only look at your college scores, not your HS records

Your drawing skills looks excellent. If you have the drive to keep working really hard you can do anything you want. Good luck!
