Hi everyone.

I've recently started to use Painter with a 14" lcd at 1280 x 800 res and it feels like the canvass is too small to work on especially when I needed some palettes other than the color wheel open. With just the layers and the wheel alone it eats up a quarter of the screen. I'm already specing out for a desktop but I'm not sure what LCD monitor to get. I'm contemplating if whether I should settle for 19" or go as high as 22". Also, I'm not sure what resolution should be ideal for working and I'm definitely sure I'm not going back to 1280 x 800. Another thing to deal with is the depth of color of the lcd, its already hard to differentiate red from orange on my 14" and i dont think color profile has anything to do with it. Can anyone give me advice on these? Thanks in advance.

You should be looking for a monitor for Art not so much Painter.

Generally speaking S-IPS panels often offer better viewing angles than other panels such as TN.

When drawing you can do the following work with 1 monitor about 20" or more or 2 or more monitors.

http://www.pchardwarehelp.com/guides/s-ips-lcd-list.php is a list of IPS monitors.

I should also mention a good video card should go hand in hand with a monitor.
