Looks like a cool start to your sculpting, I'm guessing thats an air drying modeling clay which is rather heavy in large amounts.
It seems to me that your problem is that your putting alot of weight onto a small area. There is no horizontal part to your support to take some weight of the clay. Think of it this way: If you put a large melon onto a spear it will prolly slide right down where as if you put it onto a trident its got a better chance to stay on because of the horizontal bar. Excuse my crude photoshop drawing.
I surgest trying these options. First if you cut into the vertical bar a V shape then pull it down and then do some more, you'll have a barbed post which could help. But that post does look a little heavy duty.
So maybe try two large bolts crossed through near the top of the vertical bar.
And if not that then try to make a wire skull cap frame to sit on top of the vertical bar.
Hope that helps.

Noob Sketchbook? Definitely Pro sculpts man as far as I am concerned, Excellent work, all very awesome pieces. I especially like the dude with his tongue sticking out (top guy). Keep it up.

MadMcGlory : thanks so much for taking the time to do this, this is definitely very very helpful exactly the kind of advice i was looking for.. i think i will try the skullcap.
Corpsehand: Dude thanks so much.... nah man my stuff is far from pro, i will keep practicing. eventually i wan to cast my mask in latex and paint it, though i have never touched and air brush in my life o well i will keep posting.
and thanks very much for your help.
