At last this Day has arrived.
Metroid Prime Shiped today.
Never in my life have i worked so hard and so long as I did making Metroid Prime. there is a countless abount of blood sweat and tears that have been put into this product by myself and the rest of the talented team at retro, It is the most advanced piect of electric art I have ever been a part of, and it was an honor to workl with Nintendo. on a franchise I loved so much.. I hope everyone enjoys playing the game as I enjoyed working on it. If any one has played it and wants to share thier impressions or coments about it I am all ears.

have fun riding the universe of Evil..

Cool. I liked the first two games in the series. I don't have whichever console it's coming out for, so I most likely won't be playing this game anytime soon. I'll take a look at the screenshots, though.

THIS GAME IS INCREDIBLE.

Quite possibly, the best game EVER created. I mean that sincerely. Absolutely immersive.

The critics seem to agree with me.

Astounding job, Andrew. You and your colleagues have created something far beyond the imagination of most. A new benchmark, seriously. I'm totally left in awe.

If you don't own a Gamecube, buy one solely for this game. I'm not kidding. Go now. RIGHT NOW.

The game is well perfect I couldn't ask for more from it. I am addicted to it which I can't let affect school =P. I had it reserved at game stop and I flipped when I got the call during storyboarding class "Sir your Metroid Prime copy has just arrived.

Heh. I'm completely torn on whether I should go to class tomorrow or stay at home and figure out where to go in the game next :)

The visor/weapon effects are by far the coolest things I've encountered in the game so far.

Edit:
Btw... are those your drawings featured in the Image Gallery? I have the 1st one so far :) (Just collect 50% of all the log text in the game and you gain access)

lol...I still remember rushing through metroid trying to get a good enough time to see Samus undressed -- All my childhood friends huddled around the screen awaiting our biggest moment.

Tears streamed down our faces...it was true and oh how hot she was in all her glorious 20 pixels. :jawdrop:

Metroid's easily one of the greatest games of all time.

I'll go get a cube just for your game.

Congrats, Drew. :chug:

The game rocks Andrew...I was happy to see your art printed in the Prima Strategy guide....

I gotta admit I was among the skeptics for the move to 3d....I'm so glad I was wrong...I've been playing Metroid since NES and this game does the series justice.

BTW Now that this project is done... are you taking a vacation of sorts...heaven knows you and the rest of the team deserve it!

Sweeeet! My bro has the gamecube at the moment, so I'll have to wait till I see him at christmas to play it. Can't wait!

Also, lemme get on the boat I'm sure everyone else is on in saying that it would be great if you could post some of the concept art here, or talk a bit about your experience! I imagine the process of taking the up reins of such a beloved series is a bit different from creating a game from scratch.

Thanks a bunch, and congratulations on finishing with honors.

Thanks everyone, It feel great see years of hard work pay off in the end. I am taking a short vacation back home to Boulder Colorado, I really miss my friends and family out there.I have been a working machine for the past few years and I need to get back it touch with what it means to be a real human being.
If people are interested in seeing some of the concept art there are alot of published pices in the strategy guides, but that is only the tip of the iceburg, if you want to see the good stuff you have to play through the game and unlock the 4 concept art image galleries, trust me there are plenty of concepts there to keep you happy but you are going to have to work hard to unlock them all, I made sure that only the true hardcore fans will be rewarded for thier efforts.

good luck to anyone who has what it takes to open all four galleries. its not easy but thats your mission if you chose to accept it.

Tell you what, since I am in such a generous mood, the first person to unlock all four image galleries and prove it by taking pictures of the images and posting them on the net will recive his or hers very own personal copy of metroid prime signed by yours truly and some of my select co-workers that worked on the project along with the braging rights of being one of the most hardcore metroid fans around. PM me when you have achived this goal and the images will be posted in the its finally finished section.

good luck to all.

Damn! i wish i could afford to buy a gamecube! Anyhow, i love this self portrait, the green shape of the samus visor is a perfect way of portraying that metroid feeling that so many of us 20' somthing year olds can relate to. I remember playing the first metroid game as a child, and being facinated by the world and beauty of it (even though it was a nintendo game). As the metroid games progressed, it only got better and better, becoming more in-depth. Im so glad you were able to share this with us. And im also glad to hear that so much of "you" went into the production of the this project. Im interested: what did you create? did you draw Samus Aran? Did you draw the monsters? Did you portray Samus with the suit off? Metroid was one of my fondest childhood memories, im so glad you had a chance to "re-invent" one of my favorite characters of all time. Your the coolest Android... dont ever quit being you.

Perhaps it is non of my business, but it would be a real shame if there was no Android contribuiton to the wizard speed painting forum....

congratulations andrew.

it takes a lot of courage, comitment, and self disclipline to complete a project of this magnatude from begining to end.

this industry is chock full of people who will jump ship the instant they hear cannon fire. you should be proud that you tuffed it out and still have love for your project.

you should award yourself a pat on the back,,, and possably an asian massage.

What's metroid?

I joke! I'm seriously intrigued with the respone i'm hearing about this game. I'm an avid gamer but I don't honestly follow the news and such, I just kinda... guess alot. With consoles I can at least rent. My thoughts on it even up to the release that this game wouldn't be impressive because it was a fps on a console and it would flop just like all the others, the only good fps i've ever played on console was goldeneye for n64. The controls on that were great, so i'm going to have to give this game a try because i believe gamecube might have the controller edge since nintendo handle goldeneye so well years before.

:waits for zelda: :\

That's awesome you are taking a vacation...going back to Boulder. I lived in Texas for a while and I went on my honeymoon to Estes Park so I know the HUMONGOUS difference between the two states. I much prefer Colorado that's for sure. Have fun on your vacation.

p.s. - I am flying down to Texas in a week. If any of you guys get together down there lemme know...I will be in the fort worth/frisco/dallas area. I will be there from 26th of this month to the 2nd of December. I know mcotie and lono are down there too...maybe we could get together and sketch at the zoo or somethin...I would love to watch you guys in action (I probably wouldn't get any sketching done hehe).

Ooooh, man, you just had to go and entice me even further, didn't you? I'm gonna be playing that game hardcore, non-stop, now. So far, I have the space boots and wave cannon. I don't expect to be the first to unlock the galleries, but I'll sure as hell try. Gorgeous game, Andrew. The more I play it, the more I see your style painted all over it. ;) It must be an amazing feeling to be involved in something that people are touting as the "best game of all time." I can't wait to see what you guys at retro are gonna create next.

Been a HUGE fan of this game for years, going crazy now after an 8 year dry spell we get not only Prime but Fusion as well. Will probably use the Varia suit model here for my Samus costume for DragonCon.
I don't really play FPS so there was a bit of a learning curve, but I'm pretty used to it now.
Curse you! Why must this come out two weeks before the end of the semester!
