Edgeworx Studios is producing the animation/illustration for an innovative feature length documentary currently in post-production. We are currently seeking an artist who works in a realistic comic-book/graphic novel style to create panels to be used within the film. Edgeworx will be animating these graphic novel panels, and bringing them to life without the context of the film.
We are looking for someone with some established credit but are willing to work with independent and up-and-coming artists, as long as their style matches what we are looking for.
Our film takes place within a world of corporate intrigue and misdeeds. Very noir/moody/pulp crime genre. Looking for an illustrator that can capture the emotional connection to the subject of the film, so strength and versatility with facial expression and character development is very important. When we push the camera into the eyes of subject, we need the illustration to stand on it's own to capture the emotion the character is feeling. Nothing cartoony or too caricature - looking for a strong physical resemblance to the actual subject. As these panels will be inserted throughout a feature length documentary, we need a illustrator with a cinematic vision, who can be collaborative in the visualizing process and can master an bold, graphic look that commands your attention.
Roughly 30 panels, and the decent sized budget does exceed $5,000.
