So, I have this idea I would like to try.
it will be a 'comic'/ sequential art dialogue.
I will be refering to this as 'sequential', because comic is way too narrow a definition for what I have in mind. anything a basic web-browser can work with should be a possibility: Flash, Sound, Movement. game-elements. you name it.
it will be a sequential art thing made by everyone who wants to join in. the dialogue will run two ways. first, you get to design ideas. second, the ideas are voted on.
-I will be posting the fruits on my webpage (www.ashess.nl)
-there will be token prizes for the (voted) winner. I was thinking of something like 10 euro and an advertizement on my website untill the next winner is chosen.
-contestants should realize that if they win, their entry will be used and changed and worked from; that means relenquishing any artistic rights in those regards.

Before I start this, I would like to know if there is an interest. I'd need -say 10 people who are willing to take part in the first part of this 'challenge'.

-------
part 1:
design a protagonist for our sequential.
in this, it is imortant to consider the following.
-it is not so much your execution, but the character itself that will be judged;
it should be an interesting-looking character. but it should also be easy to be reproduced - also by slightly less skilled artist then yourself.
-if you use 'examples' in your design, be sure to name them, so that others may choose different material.
-nothing wrong with a quirky character. I do think we need humor in this. but a little more would be nice.
-backstory and character are NOT part of the design yet. thinking up these will be the next 'challenge'.
----
(in shrot) part2: thinking up an interesting & fun background and persona for the character
part3: making up an introductory sequential for this character, and in such ALSO designing the basic layout/storytelling format.
soo; first I'd like to know. who would play ball?

Sure! Contact me! I love to talk to others from around the world. In fact, I think I had a French pen pal once upon a time. I don't know what happened to him, though. I'm 46 and live just outside Philadelphia, about an hour and a half from NYC. I've been to France and LOVED IT! Even the Parisians were extremely friendly.
