I love the tilted angle you've got, and the effect of the snow shooting out around the bot, a great feeling of action!

Dude... snowbording robots. That has to be the coolest idea ever. I don't think any further explanation is needed to convey my stance on this painting. Nor was that last scentance neccisary.

Thanx guys : D

I'm pleased with how it came out, and I'd like to do another in the ... errmm... 'snowboarding robot' series.. hehe

just the thought of all the hydrolics and articulations moving to compensate for balance seems really 'sexy' to me ... I wish I could capture it in an animation.

I really like all the motion in this picture, and the robot looks great too. You've quite steadily honed your ID rendering technique to an admirable degree.
It's great idea--and though I hate to say it, you got beaten to the punch. (http://www.planetquake.com/polycount/cottages/gauss/misc/ssxchurch_5.jpg) :) A friend of mine works over at EA Big and decided to stick an old steam-driven robot design of mine as a secret character in SSX 3. So if anyone wants to actually play as a snowboarding robot, just finish peak 3 on freestyle in SSX 3. (/end shameless self promotion).

tegehel: thanx for the 'nanner :D

gauss: LOL.. uh-oh.. beat to the punch I have been indeed ... guess the world will have to deal with one more snowboarding-mechanized-robot-metal-thing. (you gots any sketches of your steam-bot?)

Hahah, no I definitely think there's plenty of room for more snowboarding robots if they look as good as yours :)

The original design, which was made into a Q3 player model and then later found it's way into SSX3 I originally drew about 4 (!) years ago. Kind of depressing, but the drawing still holds up somewhat (http://www.planetquake.com/polycount/cottages/gauss/site/gallery/steamdevilc1.jpg). Keep up the good work Sammy.
