Hawk scout ship

[Crazy Max]

A few months back I posted a concept drawing for this ship. I finally got a chance this weekend to make a start on modeling it in max. I still have lots of modeling to do on it and I have some new ideas for the wing that I think will improve the overall design.

hey, i really like the design. i think the actual model came out better than the concept. it does seem kinda bare on top compared to the bottom, unless thats the look your going for. are you planning on texturing it?

The idea behind the top being more bare and slab sided etc is to make the ship more stealth. I plan to have a go at making an animation of the ship with the top and sides coated in active camouflage so that as the craft moves along it will change color to match the terrain that it is flying over.

Here are a couple of more pic's. I have been working on the details of the claws etc. The claws that are touching the ground need to be re posed and I need some rear landing gear.

steath makes sense. the idea for you animation sounds cool, would love to see some final renders. the model for the landing gear is very clean and neat. only one crit, the ship doesnt look balanced,like there should be something in the back for support. or perhaps have a third landing gear coming from the same place but pointing in the opposite direction.

Here is a link to a little test animation I did over the weekend.
It came out a bit dark and it needs DivX to play.
I have made a start on a new wing and the back landing gear but they were not finished in time for this animation test.
