Haven't posted in quite some time... I have been working on this guy on and off in my free time for a while now. I have been drawing different versions of it for years in sketchbooks, so its nice to finally have it finished and done. The concept is sort of in the same vein as WALL-E or Silent Running (if anyone's seen that). A robot roaming the desolate earth trying to care for the remaining plant life it can find. I also wanted to make a sculpture that I could actually use as a planter. The top has moss growing in it (which I've found to be very temperamental) and onion chives in the center. It is about 15 or so inches tall and it is articulated. It has joints in the neck, hips, knees, ankles, shoulders, elbows, wrists, and fingers. The top can also flip open on a hinge and the hands can slide up a rail higher on the arm. None of the movement is automated. Any name ideas are welcome. I've just been calling it Plantbot which is a little generic.

Nice concept, great use of parts and cool outcome. Like it!

I'm honestly more impressed with the diagram than the actual end product (which I do like a lot). The whole system of the build, numbers per part, etc. is very impressive to me.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I sometimes do more traditional sculpting, but with these the process is a little more important to me. Thus the recording of the stages. People seem to like picking out the bits and pieces they recognize, so the parts chart is a fun way to break it all down. It also makes it easier to see how things were modified, or if nothing else, it shows what a little texture and some paint can do.
