so i was wondering what would be a good score to get in order to go to ringling or rhode island, or any college with illustration for that matter..
i just got my scores today and i got a 1560, not exactly sure it that's good enough of if i should take the test again.. thoughts?

Is the 1560 based on 2400,which would be very crappy or out of 1600 ( M and CR), which would be amazing? I can tell you, as of four years ago when my daughter applied to RISD, they wanted about 1300 SAT ( M and CR only at the time) unless your portfolio was "out of this world." Even then, they usually wanted at least 1200 (M and CR).

I got into Ringling, SCAD, and CCAD with a 1780. I'm not sure how much they really even look at your test scores; if you have an awesome portfolio I wouldn't worry too much. It probably wouldn't hurt to take it again if you really want to though.

i have a 1030 if you don't include the writting :/ so i'm not sure if that's good or bad, or if i really should take it again.. i checked to see if ringling had SAT scores they wanted, but i couldn't find anything..

Some schools require scores and can be picky with them, from what I've heard. I think RISD is one of those schools. A lot of art schools don't even require you to submit them. I'm pretty sure Ringling doesn't require them, but they may help if they're good.

Ringling doesn't, but they're an exception. Most schools don't make a terribly big deal out of SAT scores, but most will at least look at it.
I'd go ahead and retake it. In the grand scheme of things, it's a pretty insignificant amount of time and money to retake.

Unless they've changed it in the past couple years, RISD doesn't require them. They'll take them, but I don't think they care a whole lot about them.
