Hi, It's great to be in this forum and share these images with you. This is a series of boardgame cards that I've been working on. I hope you enjoy looking at them. Thanks for any feedback.

Here is a pencil sketch I use as a starting point. At the begining I worked the pencils a lot but towards the end of the series I began to find confidence in my painting skills so I didn't need to do such detailed first sketches. All this is a bit new to me as I learned as I went along how to master photoshop painting. I still find my stuff a bit heavy, like thick acrylic paint and I'd love to lighten up but it's done now the next time around I'll see how to approche this way of coloring differently. I lost a lot of detail in the painting process.

Yes, your works look like thick acrylic paintings, but I think thatīs what make them different. Of course, you are free to try another styles :D

I love specially the girl with the dove :chug:

Hi Cassandra.
Thanks for your comments. What I do is first of all fill in the background with a base colour as in normal painting then I use textures from various sources to give the image a less digital feel to it usually a layer just over the bottom. The original artwork is in multiply mode and I paint an undercoat of all the colours in the illustration. Then I add another layer over the top. I paint the highlights over the scanned pencil work to get the whole piece blended in. I sometimes add another layer of texture, ie a photo of a concrete wall over it . It gives the whole thing that painterly feel. I'm not always happy with the end result but I've learned a lot over the last few months doing this project and I'll probably try out like you said other techniques. I looked at your site and I love the way you colour your work as well

Mmm... I see. We work in similar ways then, but the result is really different! In the last year or so I have started using textures too, they give a painting quality to the image.

I said the girl was my favourite one... No, I think is the last one, the man reading. Great drawing!

Thanks for visiting my website :D
