Hi everyone on conceptart.org, I'm new on the board and proud to say that I finally got the the guts to post some of my stuff after a year of lurking. Lots of great talent here and I hope to learn from you guys in the future.
Well, this is my first post.......I'm using painter 8 at the moment and I'm still learning the art of digital illustration on my own (with some help from here of course). Rest assured that my works are mostly original; I don't really like to copy but thats just my preference. Unfortunately, I'm at a lost right now cuz I not too sure how to post an image. Pls help out. Sorry!

Hello, and welcome! What I use to post my pics, is Photobucket= www.photobucket.com. Once you upload your pics into an album you will create, Copy the URL. Then when your typing your message in conceptart when your ready to put your pic in "click on the IMG button and paste the URL in there. Then that should be it! Let me know how it goes!

i like the armour you used, was it from a reference ?
also i like the subtle texture on the sandstone pillar behind her on the left hand side.
oh and throw some of your sketches in the sketches section to show us how your ideas come about .

Thanks guys!
About the shoulder thing, it's actually a contra-posto thing but I guess it didn't turn up that well under all the armour and stuff.
The armour it self is heavily based on Gothic armour.

Wow. Nice painting. Yeah, the contraposto isn't working with the armor. I don't think it even DOES work. But anyways, I think it would look even better with something in the foreground.

How do I get it to look more metallic? Any ideas?

Shiny metal often goes from black to white very fast. Not so much grey in the middle. It also reflects stuff around it of course.
If it's an older worn armour it'll look more dull and have more greys.
