Geometry in art and composition

Hey guys, I've been wondering a lot lately about geometry's play in composition, specifically those of the renaissance. I've heard that they used a great deal of geometry in the placement of objects, and i can see the simple stuff, but i miss a lot of the underlying structure. Also, I've seen a lot of posts talk about how they wish there was a larger discussion on composition on conceptart, so perhaps this could be it? Thanks guys for your input and posts.

You might try the CA Search function to search "sacred geometry." I think there was a pretty extended discussion within the last 6 months to a year!

There's a good bit on Golden ratios etc at the end of Speeds drawing book.
It's free and legal so have a look.

cool thanks guys. I found this unit dealio published by Dartmouth college. It looks like an easy read but if you go through it, its kinda not haha. Here you all go, It's actually really good.
