Thanks to Carlos(M4de.com) for informing this.

Pichinoty Jean is the guy who claims the art on his site is his. You'll find the works of Nathan Campbell, Agent44, Francis, Craig Mullins, Mikael Nogouchi, Feng zu and many more.

This message was originally posted by mikael nogouchi in the lumental forums (itīs ok if I mention them? itīs a good cause after all...)

We must stop this SOAB and any one who does the same, it really sickens me.

I can't imagine why someone would even seriously try to get a job with a portfolio of other peoples' work. What do they think is going to happen if they somehow manage to get the job? There was a notorious case of this happening at my art school. A former graduate who had gone on to work for Disney had left a good portion of his qualifying portfolio with the school. Some moron wanted to get to Disney so bad that he copied the portfolio and submitted it as his own. He ended up being asked to come down for an interview and who should be the artist selected to review his portfolio? None other than the REAL owner of the portfolio. Needless to say, this loser lost the chance he never had of getting a job in the entertainment industry. Hows that for Justice?:D

It's the same way in animation land. I've heard so many stories of people sitting around reviewing demo reels when all of a sudden somebody says, "Hey! That's mine!"

Our community is tiny! That's why you should never steal, and never talk da smack about anybody. Yah never know who might hear it! :D

Now I'm having second thoughts about putting my work on the web.

Following this up, I checked out that website. It's wierd, I was totally expecting something... sketchy. Like at the website I work at right now, when we get orders from some guy trying to rip us off, they just stink of fraud. But this site... I mean, he's got pictures of himself on it. He's goes off on how much he loves the act of creation, and his girlfriend who inspires him, and thanks all his friends and parents. He's obviously got some talent, as the wedsite itself is very slick and well done. But then I click on the "markers" section and see Spinefinger's entire fucking gallery scroll across in front of me. And it makes me wonder... how much of that other stuff is bullshit too? Or if there's one or two of his own pieces mixed in there with all the ones he stole? If there are, they're good enough that they don't stand out from the crowd. In a way I almost feel bad for him, he wanted to get in so badly but didn't have enough faith in himself...

Or on second thought, maybe he's just an ass.

And Coma, don't worry about putting your stuff up. If jerks like that can't get at it, it means potential employers can't get at it either. Besides, if you're stuff's good enough to get someone else a job, it's good enough to get you a job as well. :D

You are all right, in a small community where everyone knows each other (generaly speaking) its plain stupidity posting elseone works. the hiring ppl may not know, but the artists will sure know it, and will recgonize it, and will flame him in the hell of shame, like an opus sanctum of art. he deserved the punishment.
