hopefully I can stick to this sketchbook this time. I was inspired by Metalwinds studies so I did this. It took about 1hr in Painter. I got the reference from the section here on the boards.

Hey, nice stuff Madman! You have some nice pencilsketches here.
Anyways, the pic on Natalie is nice, theres something odd with here right (from viewer point) eye, though.. Maby u should place it just a bit closer to the nose. Only a personal suggestion though.. I might be wrong..

Nice work here madman...your animal sketches are very elegant, I especially like the leopard, where you identify that sensous line and work from there. Very nice! I think with the figures, your proportions are a little off (the head is big in the nude sitting...a huge problem of mine too!) But your digital painting skills are lookin sharp! Good stuffs!

Keepiru : yeah you're right her head is super huge that one I really messed up. I usally do a lot better than that one though most still have a lot of mistakes.

youre very good with your pencils, but sometimes (like on the padme one) it seems you simply colour the whole thing grey, not really shading it properly at all.
your ps/painter stuff is looking good too, but not quite on the level of your pencils! your skin texture is veery nice tho on the very first post.

yeah you are right on that piece it doesn't look that great. I do try out a bunch of techniques for shading. On that piece I just added a base tone that was not the lightest but close to and covered the whole drawing with that, then I added the darkest darks and then the middle tones and then went in with an eraser for the brightest area. I think Ron Lemon did something similar, but hey I'm not Ron so even if I followed the same tech I know I got aways to go before it resembles the quality in his shading. I think the scan kinda was messed too but hey no excuses right...I probably need to use darker pencils.

I drew for 5 hrs today, so I feel pretty good that's the longest in a long time. I set the timer for 3 hours and tried to see how many faces I could do..So here we go..

oh and they were all from the Swimsuit Sports Illustrated and some from the making of Star Wars book.
