EOW 141The Pilgrim's Trail

Brief
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santiago_de_Compostela
In medieval and Renaissance times one of the Major Pilgrimage sites in Europe Was the Cathedral of St. James of Campostela. This weeks assignment is to show something along those routes related to the pilgrimage. There are many stunning monasterys and amazing towns along those routes, for example Mont St Michel in France is a pilgrim waystation .. so do some research. find something related to this pilgrimage and era.
This is a reality check assignment, I want a real place, and reference.
The attached Picture is one such site, Rocamadour, France

k thxAn outside host means exactly that - an image host that's not Conceptart.org. Instead of adding the thumbnail with the attachment manager you have to host it on another site (your private domain, photobucket, (both recommended) or imageshack for instance).
The full image gets added with the attachment manager, however.

After you uploaded the thumbnail somewhere, you simply add the around it and you're done

The tradition has it that pilgrims must leave a rock from their homeland at the base of the cross. Unfortunately these days, people seem to dump any old thing there.

I don't usually vote. But I voted for Ochrehand, because he/she took the topic, Did the research, beautifully fullfilled the requirements and then really did something different with it. Made it say something.

+1 for OchreHand from me too for the same reason. nice one! Although to be honest i liked for the enrviroment-thing more the others, but this specific one won for the unique idea

I voted for smot, he worked very hard and I got to see it progress. It's a nice idea.

Munin_raven got my vote, although I think the composition would benefit greatly if you were to remove the small building on the right, as it distracts the eye. Otherwise, nice use of color and I like the feel of your brushes.

BTW, as I think the poll shows, I think all the entrants have put a good foot forward on this one, nice work all.

I was struck between twentyone and Jan Jager but in the end voted for Jan Jager as I dearly love the colours of those trees and the interesting viewpoint with the tile shingle and contrasting facade.

A tough choice as I really enjoyed the vista of twentyone's entry along with the woman turning with her cowl and the inward jesture of her left hand and closed eyes. OchreHand had a unique take on the subject which was at once unexpected and enjoyable, and Smot put the effort in (as twentyone observed) and worked hard on that structure. I really like the brickwork of Ironchicken too... the whole image has a pastal quality to it.

Enjoyable all round!
